The performance of 300 kV Multi-Isotope Low-Energy AMS System (MILEA) for 14C, 129I and Actinides
摘要
Abstract
The Chinese Institute for Radiation Protection (CIRP) has been equipped with a 300 kV multi-nuclide low-energy accelerator mass spectrometer system (MILEA)
which is capable for ultra-low level measurements for 14C
129I
actinide nuclides (Pu isotopes
237Np
Am isotopes
Cm isotopes and U isotopes) in various sample matrices. In the on-site acceptance test and tuning measurement of the system
it was shown that the system has the excellent performance to determine 14C
129I and actinide nuclides with key parameters including the transmission efficiency from injector to detector
the current intensity in the high-energy side
the ratios of rare radionuclides and stable nuclides or/and abundance sensitivity in blank samples
and the scatter obtained from multiple standard targets. The results obtained show that the system is competitive with larger AMS systems.
